Tram depot. Dated 1915. Possibly by WH Watkins. For Bristol
Omnibus Company. Brick with roughcast and tiled roof. Offices
to the left, garage to the right. Single storey; 4-garage door
range. Arts and Crafts style. The garage entrance piers are
rusticated with alternate brick quoins; 2 steep gables to the
middle garage gateways have tympana decorated with plaster
cartouches. Brick plinth and roughcast above to a square
left-hand corner entrance turret with a semicircular-arched
doorway and herringbone brickwork over the door, and a clock
face above; either side are Venetian windows, under a cornice
and cyma-curved cupola roof; the parapet has brick finials at
each end. In the right facade are 2 smaller gables with
pargeting and date pad. INTERIOR not inspected. This depot is
in a similar style and plan to the Company's Westbury Road
depot (qv), designed by Watkins.
