metres north of north wall of Abbey

Chest tomb. 1848. Sandstone. A lofty tomb with flat pyramidal
capping on ledger with moulded edges, raised inscription
panels, and inset ends to cornice and base moulds, all on
cyma-mould base and platform, formerly railed. The N side
inscription includes SAMUEL, son of Samuel and Mary HEALING,
d.1848, aged 19, and Mary HEALING, d.1862. Various later
inscriptions, including date as late as 1916. The panel to the
E is very badly weathered. The Healing family were important
industrialists in the C19, and Healings Mill is still a major
employer in Tewkesbury.
