GV II

House in row. Late C17, mainly rebuilt late C19. Stretcher
bond brickwork (cavity wall?), originally timber-framed; tile
roof, brick rear stacks. The property covers an alley to the
right, has a stair turret rear right of the main front rooms,
and a late C19 rear wing.
3 storeys, 2-windowed. 4-pane over 8-pane sashes, with
rendered voussoirs. Mid C19 pilaster shop front in console
fascia, with deep recessed glazed door under transom-light. To
the right a brick arch to the alley.
INTERIOR: has been substantially modified, with Victorian
fireplaces, and rebuilt roof structure, but has remains of a
C18 winder stair with a section of handrail with a Doric
newel. There is some light panel framing in the party wall to
the right at second floor. The basement has a segmental brick
vault and brick floor.
