Terrace of 17 houses. c1850. By Thomas Pennington. Limestone
ashlar, party wall stacks and a pantile double-pile roof.
Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys and
basement; 1-window range. A formally-arranged terrace with a
left-of-centre 3-window house, and 2-window end houses. Banded
ground floor, pilasters to a frieze, cornice and parapet, and
coped party walls. Recessed doorways with overlights and
2-panel doors. Recessed ground-floor window surrounds,
architraves above with first-floor console cornices and
bracketed slate balconies with cast-iron railings; 6/6-pane
sashes, some C20 replacements. No.13 is a symmetrical front
with a central doorway. End houses have 2-window range and
return elevations with a 3-window range, central
semicircular-arched recess containing the doorway, and a
first-floor stair light. INTERIOR: No.13, central hall with a
semicircular arch to a rear dogleg stair with turned
balusters.
