Pair of attached houses. c1840. Stucco with limestone
dressings, central brick stack and pantile hipped roof.
Double-depth plan. Italianate style. 3 storeys, basement and
attic; 4-window range.
A symmetrical pair, with broad pilasters at the corners and
centre of the central block to a frieze and cornice and an
attic with a coped parapet, and 2-storey outer blocks with 1
window, cornice and stele-shaped parapet. Doorways in the end
returns have scrolled consoles to canopies, doors with 2 oval
panels, and semicircular-arched stair lights with margin panes
toward the rear. The central block has tripartite ground-floor
windows with cornices and wreathed, pediment lintels, and
6/6-pane sashes flanked by 4/4-pane sashes; the rest have
architraves, with 6/6-pane sashes on the first floor and
ground floor to the sides, 3/3-panes in the attic and
2/4-panes in the outer blocks. INTERIOR not inspected.
