22/05/72 Garden walls to east, south and west
of Lismore
GV II
Garden perimeter walls and kitchen garden walls. Early C19.
Killas rubble with scantle slate copings with red clay ridge
tiles. Walls enclose an irregular-shaped garden sloping down
on 2 sides to a valley bottom. Part of the south side is
enclosed as a kitchen garden with a storage sump fed by the
water from Five Wells (qv). Adjoining the east side of the
kitchen garden is a rustic garden feature arch constructed of
irregular blocks of granite. The east wall of the garden is
the boundary wall with No.4 (qv). The gardens at Lismore (qv)
make an important contribution to the townscape in the centre
of Helston.
