extending to Holloway Lodge

GV II

Coach-house and attached wall approx 33.5m long. c1820. Stone
rubble with ashlar dressings; hipped tile roof. Rectangular
structure built into edge of motte. Gothic Revival style.
Single storey with loft. Coach entrance to left end has
4-centred head and C20 paired plank doors; central entrance
has 4-centred head and C20 plank door with quatrefoil pitching
eye above; window to right has 4-centred head and remains of Y
tracery. Left return to Holloway has 2 small-paned casements
to loft; loft entrance to right return. Wall to south has
embattled parapet. An important element in the setting of the
castle.
