Walls, piers and gates to Gray House
GV II
Walls, piers and gates to N of Gray House (qv). 1914. By CAC
Greene. For Mr Tindal Greene. Brick walls and piers with
ashlar and tile copings; wrought-iron and wood gates. High
walls with segmental ashlar coping enclose N side of garden to
Gray House, facing Gray Road. Vehicle entrance at left has
square piers with low pyramidal ashlar coping, and boarded
wood gates set in rear inner recesses. Entrance to path to
house has tall square piers with roll-moulded gabled coping,
and slightly lower narrow inner piers with curved tile centre
raised on gabled coping facing inwards to gate. High
wrought-iron pedestrian gate has scattered leaf trails and
lizards across entire gate.
