Shop with living accommodation above; the club premises at
No.133 (qv) now extend across the first floor. Late C19.
MATERIALS: red brick dressed with stone and olive-green tiles.
Slated roof. Red brick chimney on right-hand side wall with
stepped upper courses forming a cap.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and garret. Flemish Renaissance style
front, 1-window-wide. Later shopfront of good quality, with
angle shafts to the display window and carved door head having
patterned fanlight above; tall wooden entablature.
Second storey has 4-light, mullioned and transomed bow window
of stone with moulded sill and transom; deeply-projecting top
cornice on decorated iron brackets, this being finished with a
similar iron cresting. Lower lights have plain sashes; transom
lights 8-paned.
Third storey window has 2-lights with round arches springing
from square pilasters; patterned glazing in the heads of the
lights.
Moulded sill with scrolls beneath; window-head flanked by
giant fluted consoles rising to top entablature. Latter has
dentilled cornice and deep tiled frieze.
Pilasters in 2 stages support it at either side of the front,
the second storey ones fluted and having carved brackets below
and carved capitals above, both of eccentric design.
Triangular dormer gable with flanking scrolls and shaped
pediment, the round-arched window having moulded archivolt
with exaggerated rustications; upper sash has patterned
glazing in Geometric style.
