Four terraced houses. In sloping street approaching Percy
Circus. c. 1839-1841. Probably by William Chadwell Mylne,
Surveyor for the New River Estate. Yellow stock bricks with
banded stucco ground-floor and stucco dressings; party-wall
brick stacks; roofs obscured. Side-hall entrance plan. Three
storeys with basement, 2 windows each. Low steps rise to
entrance in right bay (no. 68 side entrance set within
carriageway): round-arched ground-floor openings set in stucco
recess, doorway with panelled jambs carrying corniced-head,
panelled door (nos. 66-68 & 72 C20) and fanlight. 6/6 sashes
throughout. 1st floor stucco sill band to gauged-brick flat
arched full-length sashes set in arched recess; coupled
cast-iron bracketed balconies with anthemion and Vitruvian
scroll pattern to cast-iron railings. Gauged-brick flat arches
to 2nd floor sashes. Extensive rebuilding and patching-in to
upper floors. Parapet with stone coping and brick string
course below. Attached cast-iron railings with knob and disc
finials.
