Leas Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably mid to later C18; altered. Handmade red
brick in English garden wall bond, with sandstone dressings
and slate roof. Double-depth double-fronted plan with
projected porch. Two storeys, 1:1:1 windows, symmetrical; with
a low 2-storey gabled porch which has a round-headed doorway
and a 2-light casement window above with raised sill and wedge
lintel, and 3-light casements on both floors with similar
sills and lintels. Gable chimneys. Rear has sliding sash
window(s). Forms group with The Lodge, Sandy Lane (q.v.)
approx. 50m north-east.
