Terrace of cottages, circa 1840. Each house 2 storeys, attic and basement (except
Nos 23, 24 and 32 which have no attic; and No 25 which has 3 storeys). Moderately
low pitched slate roof with eaves soffit. Multicoloured stock brick, stuccoed
basements. Nos 26-31 each have 1 square dormer. Nos 23-26 and 30-31 have 1st
floor cill band. No 32 has segment arched carriage entrance at left, giving
it an extra bay's width. Double door to this entrance has fanlight over with
vertical bars. Gauged brick arches to all openings, flat on 1st floor and on
ground floor of Nos 23-36 and 32. Other ground floor windows round headed in
arcaded front with stucco spring string. Door openings similar. No 25 has moulded
stucco architraves. All windows sashes with glazing bars, and some have margin
lights. Many doors renewed but 25 and 30 have originals of 4 panels. Cast iron
handrails and wrought iron area railings, long and short spearheads.
Nos 23 to 32 (consec) form a group.
