Houses. Late C18/early C19. Brick; Welsh slate roof; 4 cross
axial brick ridge stacks (right end stack with C20 upper
section). 4-unit plan. 3-storeys, the 2 larger end units
having cellars; 5-window range: to left, 8/8 sash with painted
stone sill, reveals and grooved stucco lintel; two 6/6 sashes
and, to right, two 8/8 sashes, in similar settings; 4/4 and
3/3 sashes in similar settings over; brick dentilled
eaves over. Central pair of matching 6-panel doors, recessed
in panelled cases, with moulded flat hoods on fluted
pilasters; this pair flanked by 6/6 sashes. 6-panel doors with
plain overlights in panelled cases, with moulded flat hoods on
pilasters (part restored to left); 8/8 sashes. Arched and
grated cellar opening, with cast-iron window, and further, now
blocked window to cellar, to right-hand unit. Right gable
shows brick front keyed into rubble, supporting brick stack.
Left gable stuccoed - irregular.
Rear of No.51 roughcast with late C18/early C19 casements, and
one margin-glazed light. Rear of No.53 of rubble.
Late C19, 2-storey party extension to Nos.51 and 53 with brick
end stack. Rear of No.55 of brick with 3-storey, hipped
extension and further leanto extensions, all having cast-iron
and other casements. Rear of No.57 of rubble with inserted
brick panel containing 3/6 sash under timber lintel at eaves
level, with 6/6 sash under segmental brick arch below.
