GV II

House. C16 or early C17 timber frame, remodelled and centralised
in early C18, refronted late C19. Painted brick and plaster.
Old tile roof with tall square stacks. Two and a half storeyed,
symmetrical front of projecting gable ends each with 2 Ground
floor sashes, 1 1st floor 3-light casement, and bargeboards
carved with wavy lines. Central gabled dormer. Door has carved
consoles and flat hood which are part of entablature across
middle of elevation, the architrave continuing on the end bays.
Rear elevation has C17 pyramid roof stair turret towards N and
c.1890, grey brick, two and a half storeyed, extension on S.
Interior has very good, central, early C18 staircase with
triplets of balusters on each step and scrolls on the sides.
Contemporary panelling in hall and front room.
