The Old Rectory
II
Farmhouse, then rectory, now house. C18, with early C19 and C20 additions and
alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with stone dressings and quoins, rendered
to sides, stone tiled roof with ridge stacks. 2 storeys and 2 windows, ground
floor has two 3-light casements with chamfered mullions, (replacement of C20 to
left), 2 similar 3-light casements at first floor with ovolo mullions (of C19 to
left), former central door blocked. Attached to right an early C20 2-storey
block with flat roof, door to left with plain shell hood on brackets, 2-light
casement above, similar 2-light casement to ground and first floor front;
attached to left a single storey lean-to with 2-pane light to front and 3-light
casement to left return with ovolo mullions and hood mould; wrought iron brackets
under eaves. Right return of addition has single light at ground floor, 3-light
casement at first floor. Interior: not inspected.
