Farmhouse. Probably C18 with early C19 additions and alterations. Sand-
stone rubble, Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks. Rectangular plan in
two parallel ranges aligned north-north-east/south-south-west. Cellar,
two storeys and attics. East elevation has five windows, glazing bar sashes
with cambered heads except for canted bay window to left-hand side. Roughly
central glazed late C19 door under early C20 canopy with Welsh slate roof
extending over door and adjacent windows. West elevation has segmental
headed early C19 casements to left of entry and canted bay windows with
glazing bar sashes to its right. Interior has ten service bells in rear
hall. Two-flight early C19 cantilevered staircase with carved tread ends,
oak handrail and stick balusters. Diapered quarry tiles. South-east first
floor room has early C19 cast-iron fireplace with raised basket, frieze
decorated with rosettes and surrounds with small nail-heads. Eastern range
has seven structural bays, most of the trusses having collars supported by
two posts which are tied back to principals. Two of the trusses have curved
principals and king-posts. Between the third and fifth bays from the south
is a partition with an opening divided by diamond section oak mullions next
to an C18 ledged door with strap hinges.
