4/141 Gate-piers, gates and
walls about 50 yards
south-east of
Caradoc Court

GV II

Gate-piers, gates and wall. Probably mid-C19. Finely cut limestone ashlar,
squared sandstone and wrought iron. Inner piers carrying gates are taller
with square-section piers rising to dentilled cornice and curved bases
supporting egg-shaped finials, fluted to bottom half. Lower piers are
similarly detailed. Central two-leaved gates curve up towards centre
and have elaborate scroll-work. Single gate between two left piers is of
similar design but smaller. Right-hand piers are linked by rock-faced sand-
stone wall with coping. Gate piers are described as C18 in previous list.
