Single cottage in "Picturesque" tradition. Late C18. Lias stone walls. Thatch
roof, hipped at both ends. 2 symmetrical front gables with their pitched roofs
returning to main roof. Original design brick stacks in groups of 3, at left
and right eaves. Moulded caps. l½ storeys. 3 windows, ground floor with
sashes and glazing bars. First floor with 2 light casements in the gables. Very
small square window over door. Front door at centre, flush panels with 4 glass
lights over. Reeded door surround. Porch, plank sides with trelliswork above.
Low-pitched slate roof over, boarded to front. Interior: originally, double-
depth plan, with fireplaces in corners, set diagonally. Source: "RCHM Dorset I",
