Single house, now hotel, with rear attachments, early C17. Coursed Lias
ashlar walls. Thatch roof with gable ends and stone gable copings. One
brick stack at right hand gable. 2 storeys. 3 windows, stone mullions
with hollow chamfers, of 3, 4 and 5 lights. C20 metal casements therein.
Stone mullions in west gable, part blocked. Front doorway, left of centre,
stone surround".,with slight hollow chamfer. C20 door, wood with many glass
panels. Thatched rear wing at east gable end with canted bay. Interior:
early C17 mid-chamfered beam with small fillets. Fireplace in right hand
room: massive lintel with straight chamfer. "RCHM, Dorset I", p 95 (4).
