Detached Farmhouse. C17 rear range, with mid C18 front range, and
mid C19 right hand end. Brick and stone walls, rendered. Slate
roof with stone gable-copings. Stone and brick stack at left hand
gable, brick stack right of centre, brick stack at right hand
gable. Large, projecting 2-storey porch, right of centre, with stone
gable-coping to front. 2 storeys and attics. 6 bays, sash-windows
with crown glass, recessed wooden frames and wooden cills. Porch
has a round-headed sash over front door and an oculus with glazing-
bars in the gable. Doorway, early C19, with Soanian incised pilasters
and capitals, moulded reveals and head. Rectangular fanlight with
elliptical-shaped glazing-bars. Open wooden pediment over. Door
with flush and recess panels, early C19. Attached mounting-block at
left gable-end. Long rear range, same materials. No stacks. 2
storeys, c.4 windows, mixture of casements, sashes and 3-light stone
mullions with lead lights. Datestone on rear wall: I B M 1757 on a
fielded panel with a rope-moulded surround, perhaps referring to
front range build. Iron weathervane of porch gable has R S 1723 in
openwork. Interior: rear range has roughly hewn exposed ceiling-
beams. Stone-jambed fireplace has wooden lintel over with filleted
stops. Bread oven. Front range: ribbed window-shutters, wooden
elliptical arches with capitals to hall. Fielded-panel dado.
