Two attached Cottages, joined together in C18, and now two again.
c.Early C17 core, with C18 and C20 rebuilding. Way Farm 1: at right
angles to road: rubble-stone walls, concrete tile roof. Brick stack
at gable end and right hand ridge. 1½ storeys. 3 windows, 3-light
wooden casements with glazing-bars. 2 C20 dormers with flat felt
roofs. Front door at centre, flush, with 4 glass lights. Stone
porch with segmental stone arch-head, and stone gable-coping, Cl9.
Way Farm 2: along road: same materials, 1½ storeys, 3 windows,
2-light wooden casements with glazing-bars. 3 C20 dormers, 2-light
casements with single glass lights. Front door at left hand ground,
stable-door, C20. Interiors: of 1: large open fireplace on gable wall
to lane, coursed stone jambs and keyed wooden lintel. Bread oven.
Way Farm 2: Plank-and-muntin screen, possibly C16 reset. Heavy-
chamfered ceiling-beam.
