GV II

Public house. c1800, with mid and late C19 and C20
alterations. Painted brick with rusticated painted stucco
ground floor, ashlar dressings, and hipped and gabled slate
roof with coped gables and 2 gable stacks. Plinth, ground
floor cornice, moulded wooden gutter. 3 storeys; 3x2 windows.
Manor Street front has 3 plain sashes and above, 3 smaller
reglazed plain sashes, all with rusticated lintels. Below, an
elliptical-arched single-pane window with toplights, flanked
to right by a smaller segment-headed window and to left by a
segment-headed doorway with C20 fielded panelled door and
overlight. Beyond, on either side, an elliptical-arched
single-pane window. All these openings have imposts, keystones
and hoodmoulds. Right return, to Alfred Gelder Street, has 2
plain sashes and above, 2 smaller plain sashes, all with
rusticated lintels. Below, 2 elliptical-arched single-pane
windows and to left, a segment-headed corner doorway with C20
four-panel door and overlight. All these openings have
imposts, keystones and hoodmoulds. INTERIOR mainly refitted
late C19 and mid and late C20.
