GV II

House. Former late C15 or early C16 open hall house altered in
C18. Timber-framed building, the exterior clad in brick with
tiled roof, half-hipped to right and with 2 tall brick
chimneystacks. 2 storeys and attics; 2:5:3 windows. Attic has
2 gabled dormers with leaded light windows on pintle hinges.
Brick modillion cornice and band between floors. 1st floor has
5 leaded light casements on pintle hinges. Ground floor has 2
tripartite sashes and one 16-pane sash with cambered head.
Attached area railings on stone base. Early C19 doorcase in
lean-to section to right with early C19 wooden weather hood,
fluted pilasters and 6-flush-panelled door, the top 2 panels
glazed. Right side elevation is tile hung.
Interior has 2 octagonal moulded crownposts with quadripartite
braces and collar beam and large curved tie beam.
