Two houses. Probably late C16 or early C17 with early C19
alterations. Timber-frame and brick, No.49 stuccoed; tile roof
with brick stacks. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Left half has
entrance to right of centre with C20 door, and C20 three-light
casements; close studding to 1st floor with bracing. Right
half has bracketed eaves; entrance to left end has doorcase
with offset buttresses, frieze and brattished cornice;
panelled reveals and pointed-panelled door with nowy-headed
lock plate. Windows have sills, and label moulds over 3-light
windows of 2/4-pane sashes with Tudor heads, that over
entrance of 2 lights. Stack to rear of ridge. Right return has
timber framing visible over C20 garage wing. Brick rear wing
has pebble-dash to rear with weather-boarded gable; other wing
has exposed timber-framing with glazed lean-to and stack to
side of ridge. INTERIOR: No.45 has exposed framing and large
fireplace.
