GV II

House, now office. c1780. Brick with ashlar dressings; hipped
tile roof with large brick return stacks. Double-depth plan.
Georgian style. 3 storeys; almost symmetrical 3-window range.
Ashlar plinth, ground and 1st floor sill bands and top
cornice. Round-headed entrance has doorcase with pilasters,
entablature and pediment, early type fanlight with wooden
glazing bars, of a type common in Lichfield, over
6-flush-panel door; smaller segmental-headed entrance to right
end has 6-fielded-panel door. Windows have rubbed brick flat
arches over 12-pane sashes, but 2nd floor windows have sills
and 6-pane sashes. Left return varied fenestration; rear
adjoins Lombard Gardens (qv).
