Church, Sunday School, Assembly Rooms, Offices (formerly listed under
Redwell Street) Church House and Caretaker's House. Built 1869 and later
by Boardman. Gault brick with slate roof. Church single storey with
gallery, Sunday School and offices, 3 storeys. Church facade to Princes
Street, 3 bays, a.b.a. with Corinthian pilasters and pediment with occulus.
The central bay has entrance flanked by polished granite Corinthian columns
and inscribed moulded bricks semi-circular arch. Outer bays have 2 light
windows, inner bay has 3 light windows with decorated moulded brick semi-
circular arches. Scroll moulded brick string course. At the rear, 3 bays
of sash windows with glazing bars and flat gauged brick arches, each flanking
central pedimented section. Later offices to the west of 4 bays to Princes
Street, 6 bay west elevation and 5 bay south elevation with central pedimented
bay. Rusticated brick ground floor and quoins. 2 light windows with segmental
or semi-circular moulded brick arches moulded brick string course at 1st and
2nd floor levels, moulded brick modillion cornice at eaves. Church interior
intact. Ornate cast iron ballustrade to gallery. Benches at ground floor
and raked in gallery. Pulpipt and organ case. Heavy panelled plaster coved
ceiling. Lantern light over Sunday School, with cast iron ballustraded
gallery with school rooms heading off. Staircases with cast iron ballusters.
Caretaker's office:- To the rear and east of the Church. 2 storeys, 3 bays.
Doorway at extreme right with partly glazed door and rubbed brick flat arch.
One ground floor window in left-hand bay. Sash windows throughout with glazing
bars and rubbed brick flat arches. Internally, C17 timber framed wall.
