Piers, gates, wall and balustrade. c1735, incorporating remains of C16 walling. Gates by Nathaniel Arthur. Limestone ashlar piers and wrought-iron gates; brick and limestone rubble wall with ashlar balustrades. Piers with small urn finials, and fine double gates with overthrow arch containing a cartouche. Rubble wall extends S and joins C16 brick wall which extends along the terrace in front of Redland Court (qv), with a balustrade and steps up to the courtyard from the garden. Historical note: The wall survives from the Elizabethan house formerly on the site. Arthur made the gates to Redland Chapel (qv).
