Circa 1740-50. altered in early C19. Red brick structure. 2 storeys and attics.
Front is stucco. It has moulded cornice, parapet and 3 dormers. Projecting
porch with stone Doric columns supporting entablature. Wrought-iron balustrade
above. On left hand side is early C19 conservatory with sash windows with pilasters
between. Back elevation is brick with central projecting bay with round-headed
staircase window. 2 C18 casements to ground floor. Coved cornice.
Interior has outstanding Rococo plaster work which suggests that it may be a
work of the Blandford School. Front room to east has very elaborate Rococo
panels covering walls above dado level. Staircase is of Chinese Chippendale
type with columnar newels, and the handrail ends in a manner which also suggests
the Blandford School (it occurs for instance, in Lord Digby's School, Sherborne,
of which the designer was Benjamin Bastard).
