Large detached house, now offices. Dated 1777 with large addition
of c1830 for William Bucanan. Roughcast to C18 house, stucco to
C19; plain tile roof. Two-storey with attic; large rectangular
2-storey addition. Front: central break forward to C19 house;
fenestration 1:1:1. All windows are 12-pane sashes except for very
small sash inserted left of centre to upper floor. Projecting
Ionic flat-roofed porch to central doorway having pulvinated frieze
and dentil cornice; 6-panel door. Hollow moulded parapet cornice
below simple blocking course. Two-window fenestration to C18
house: 2 upper floor casements with lozenge panes. Two doorways,
that at centre with date 1777 in roughcast over; C20 glazed doors.
Sprocketed roof with moulded eaves; 2 flat-roofed dormers. North
side: gable to right with single-storey canted bay window having
glazed doors; single upper floor 16-pane sash in elevation to
left. Rear: hipped roof to main block. Three-window sash
fenestration, 20-pane to ground floor, 16-pane to upper floor.
Hollow moulded parapet cornice. Interior not inspected; panelled
shutters to principal sashes.
