Garden wall and archway at NGR 745789. Late C18/early C19. Red brick and limestone rubble
and freestone. Wall about 3 metres high and 45 metres long, continued about
20 metres along north side of garden in brick facing Sands Court (q.v.), in
rubble to rear, with stone coping. Wall ramped down at centre and up to central
feature, cartouche with oval and swags, surmounted by winged dragon rising from the
crown, the crest of The Codrington family, with coronet set in wall to each side;
pointed arched doorway below dragon, with brick head and timber lintel. Wall has
window opening to north, buttresses to rear.
