SU 57 NE BASILDON BLANDYS LANE (east side)

1/5 Walnut Tree Cottage

Cottage. C17 with C20 additions to north and east. Timber framed with brick
nogging on brick plinth with angle braces in end wall and later brick additions.
Thatched roof with C20 half hipped cross wing projecting to right; end stack
to left, ridge stack off-centre to right and 2 eyebrow eaves dormers to south
with 2-light leaded casements. 2 framed bays to west. 1 ½ storeys to west and
2 storeys to east. South front: first floor 3-light casement in cross wing
to right with 3-light ground floor window below. Two 6-light mullioned and
transomed leaded windows to left flanking C20 boarded door with C19 gabled
timber porch.
