GV II

House: C16 origins, exterior later C17 with early C20 additions and
alterations. Timber framed on sandstone plinth. Cotswold slate roof
and 2 brick chimneys. 1+-storeys. Right hand portion original but
upper part of timber framing repaired. Central bay has 5-light wood
mullioned windows with iron casements the one above in a barge-boarded
gabled half dormer with coving above the window and ornamental small
panelling in the gable. Other openings are C20 and addition in brick
and applied timber framing to left has terracotta plaque of the
Stanley eagle.
Interior: not inspected, but reported to contain full cruck frames.

Illustrated by R Brunskill, Houses Collins 1976 who suggests house was
open to the roof originally.
