Terrace house. Late C18, refronted c.1900. Red brick, slate roof. 5 storeys
(originally 4) and basement. 3 windows wide. Stone banded ground floor with ornate
neo-Flemish doorway to right. Sash windows in brick mannerist architraves and in
central bays; string courses and parapet with coping and cornice. Ornately
patterned cast iron area railings. Interior retains numerous interior features
including entrance hall with cornice opening into square lobby with 4 arches and
ceiling rose, the transverse arches springing from pilasters with paterae capitals
and side arches framing doorcases. Front room ground floor has enriched dado,
bayleaf plasterwork to chimney breast above mid C19 marble fireplace; enriched
storey band to stairwell; front 1st floor room with bucranium and urn frieze; stone
staircase with wrought iron balustrade; high quality door and window furniture
throughout and Neo- classical overdoors on 1st floor etc. Listed for interior
features.
