House with ground floor shops, including 2A High Street. Dated
1666 with initials RTE on projecting square bay facing High Street.
Incised render, double Roman tile roof, brick stack. L-plan with
gable to east, 2 storeys, and attic skylights. Facade to Market
Place has 2 canted bays of five 6-pane lights on 1st floor and 2
large shop fronts probably of C19 on ground floor, both with C20
glazed doors in panelled recesses. Shop front to right has moulded
wood modillion cornice right across. Right return has timber tie
beam on surface of wall and also 2 other small timbers at ground
floor level. Left return to High Street has gable with projecting
square bay on 1st floor supported on wood columns, and with date
and initials stamped into roughcast apron. Within the same
structure to left a small shop with two 4-pane sashes on 1st floor,
C20 shop window and door below. On corner, C19 shop front with
curved glass under C20 coved canopy.
