Terraced houses. c. 1719 with mid C19 alterations. Brown brick,
No 44 cement faced, stuccoed ground floors, slate roofs. 4 storeys
parapeted with coping; basement intact to No 44. Ground floors
have mid C19 shop fronts with corniced fascias, but retain original
architraved doorcases to left with cornices on consoles. Nearly
flush framed sash windows, no glazing bars, to upper floors. Cast
iron area railings with acorn finials to No 44. No 44 was generally
remodelled inside c. 1830-40 with reeded mouldings, square
balusters to staircase, single panel to front door etc., but the
passage partition is probably original. No 46 has original features
including panelling to the passage and the 1st floor and slender
turned balusters to the cut string staircase.
