House, subdivided into 2 dwellings. C17 with early C20
rebuilding. Timber-framed, colourwashed pebbledashed plaster
over C20 brick front, old tiled roof. Timber studwork exposed
in right hand (north) gable end. 2 storeys, 4 wooden casements
with leaded glazing on first floor, 2 on ground floor and 2
round arched doorways with recessed early C20 doors with upper
part glazed with bars and small panes, central tunnel leads to
rear of properties. Mid C20 flat roofed (No.57) and lean-to
(No.53) extensions at rear.
INTERIOR: with Edwardian staircases and fireplaces, remodelled
C20. Included for group value.
