Detached house. C17. Local lias stone roughly cut and squared. Ham stone dressings; double Roman clay tile roofs with
plain gables, roofline obviously altered; brick chimney stacks. 'L'-plan; 2 storeys, 2 bays. Bay 1 is a projecting
gable, with a 3-light chamfered mullioned window in recess with label at first floor level, blind below; bay 2 has
2-light small- pane casement windows, the lower under a stone lintol, with another in the north return of bay 1: in the
angle a C20 boarded door in heavy frame under open timber and pantiled porch. Further mullioned window in south wall:
extensive pantiled outbuilding to rear. Interior not seen, but illustration suggests a C17 two-unit house of
single-storey with attic, set at right angles to road, with C18 2-storey addition on north side. (Somerset Villages -
Long Load and Knole, Long Sutton, SSAVBRG, 1982).
