GV II

House. Dated 1850. By Charles Barry. Yellow brick with stone
and brick axial ridge stacks and a pantile roof. Single
storey; 2-gable range. Domestic Tudor style. Symmetrical front
has steep gables with finials and kneelers, separated by a
4-centre-arched doorway with boarded door, and containing
canted 4-light bays with hipped roofs and round-arched
casements. Paired octagonal stacks. S gable has a panel with
Canford arms, later N gable has carved panel. INTERIOR not
inspected.
Part of a large group of estate cottages associated with the
Wimborne family, who employed Barry on Canford House (Canford
School (qv)).
