-IN-MENEAGE
4/213 Barrimaylor Farmhouse and garden
walls to front (south)

II

Farmhouse and garden walls to front. Circa early C19. Serpentine rubble with dressed
granite quoins, sills, jambstones and keystones to shallow brick arches. Slurried
scantle slate roof with brick chimneys over gable ends. Cast iron ogee gutters.
Double depth plan, 2 rooms wide; probably larger kitchen living room left and parlour
right with nearly central cross passage leading to central stair between 2 rear
service rooms.
2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with fenestration grouped slightly
towards the right and the doorway left of middle of the fenestration. Circa early C20
top-glazed door and horned sashes in original openings. At the rear are several
original hornless small paned sashes.
Interior not inspected but said to be little altered in the C20.
Serpentine rubble garden walls around rectangular garden at the front. Entrance gate
to middle of lower front wall with dressed granite monolith piers and copings.
Except for some window replacement, this house is hardly altered since built and the
rear is more complete than the front.
