Description

UPPER HEYFORD CHURCH WALK
SP42NE (West side)
2/138 Manor Farmhouse
GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 or earlier, re-modelled early C19. Coursed limestone
rubble with some ashlar dressings; pantile and concrete plain-tile roofs with
brick stacks. 2 parallel ranges. 2 storeys plus attic. Double-gabled front has
the doorway, with 4-panel door and overlight, to left of centre, and both bays
have tripartite sashes at ground floor, 16-pane sashes at first floor, and
narrow windows in the gable; those to left have chamfered surrounds and labels;
those to right have matching rendered lintels and labels. Both ranges have older
casement windows to sides and rear, some with stop-chamfered lintels, and the
left range extends further to rear. Interior not inspected but likely to be of
interest.
