Douglas had wished to create a village green, flanked by the church, estate cottages, the Curate's House/ Croft House and The Homestead/ Redwalls. The Thompson's turned it into what is basically the private garden of The Curate's House/Croft House.
The present owner has allowed the photograph to give an idea of the village green.
