8/252 Wytherston House

GV II

Detached House, former Manor House. c.C17 core, enlarged in C18, and
with C20 fenestration. Rubble-stone walls. Slate roof with stone
slabs at eaves. 3 rebuilt C20 stone stacks at left hand gable, left
of centre (ridge), and right hand gable. 2- storeys. 5 windows,
2- and 3-light C20 metal casements, with lead lights, in wooden frames.
Front doorway at centre, moulded stone architrave, stone shell-hood,
on moulded stone brackets, Cl8. Panelled door with 2 top lights, C20.
c,C18 rear wing of house, also with c20 windows. Stone architrave to
modern door. Interior: very much altered in the 1930's. The front
doorway is an important architectural detail.
