6/111 Railway Viaduct

Railway Viaduct over road-to Sydling. c1850, by I K Brunel. Rock-faced
masonry. 3 arches, central larger than 2 flanking with dropped keys and dressed
stone voussoirs. Moulded plat band and cornice, with a,flat parapet over this.
Main piers each side of roadway are pierced each by 4 smaller arches with
rounded bottoms. Square corner piers at each end, with sloping revetments,
coped to retain the embankment.
