Horton Grange

II

House, 1629, altered. Brick-nogged oak small framing, partly rebuilt
in brick; slate roofs probably formerly thatched. 2-storey main wing
of 3 windows with 2-storey cross-wing to each side. Added gabled
porch of brick has large ridge chimney of brick behind. Brick lateral
chimney left. Replaced boarded door and timber casements. Double
gable-rafters suggest the roof was raised, probably late C17. Carved
on front collar-beam of left cross-wing HG 1629. Small slate-roofed
brick leanto left, probably C20.
Interior not inspected. Stated to have an oak stair of interest.
