house and hand pump

School and house. Dated 1853. Ashlar; plain tile with shaped tile
bands; C20 brick external end stack to East. Tudor Gothic style.
House to right and slightly lower school to left. House: 2 storeys;
2 windows, 2-light chamfer mullioned windows with rebated surrounds and
decorative glazing bar lights; central door with lancet panels.
School: 1 storey; 1:1:3 bays, projecting wing to left of centre;
tall chamfer mullioned and transomed windows with rebated surrounds,
left hand bay is blind; gabled porch to right with open Tudor arch to
Tudor arch doorway and nail studded door. Nail studded door to left
hand return of projecting wing; 2 glazing bar casements to right hand
return. Square plan cast iron hand pump in garden with panelled sides,
concave sided cap and finial; inscribed "BAMFORD'S / FROST / PROTECTED/
LIFT PUMP".
