SK 14 SW ELLASTONE C.P. CHURCH LANE (East side)

House. Dated 1676 with later alterations and additions. Coursed,
squared and dressed large stone blocks; clay tile roof with coped
verges on shaped kneelers; brick integral end stack to west. 2-bay
range; the West bay is larger and contains the main room with fire-
place to west; the staircase is in the East bay; lobby entry. 2
storeys and gable-lit attic; one window front, C20 casements to right
hand, half glazed door to left. Brick and sandstone extension to
left with clay tile roof, coped verge and integral end stack to left
1 storey and attic; small-pane sliding window to ground floor right
and gabled dormer above with small-pane sliding window. Single storey
brick extension to right with ashlar dressings and clay tile roof.
Door to left and small-pane window to centre. East gable of main
house has a 4-light mullioned window with chamfered mullions and a
C20 attic casement with C17 straight hood mould over. Interior:
Large inglenook fireplace; exposed ceiling beams; collar and tie beam
roof truss.
