House, mid C17 with added porch and rear kitchen wing dated 1693. Large
dressed stone to south front only, hammer dressed stone to rear and sides, stone
slate roof. 2 storeys. Double-pile. South front originally 3-room plan, jambs
to through-passage survive but service end has gone. Parlour and housebody
survive under separate gables. All are double chamfered mullioned add transomed
windows of 10 lights, 16 lights with king mullion and 2-light fire-window all
under string course. Gables have stepped windows of 3 over 5 lights with
hoodmould with decorative stops. Left hand return wall has window of 4 arch-
headed lights with cavetto mullions possibly reused from an earlier house and 4-
light double chamfered mullioned window to 1st floor. Rear has 2 gables each
with stepped windows. Right hand return wall has similar earlier roof line,
defined by string course, of single storey building. Gable entry has basket
arched doorway protected by gabled porch with shaped lintel inscribed "IMH 1693"
set within a treasure to left of 2-light fire-window for rear kitchen wing and
8-light window both double chamfered mullioned. 4 stacks.

Interior: Former housebody has large fireplace with depressed Tudor arched
lintel, moulded surround and cyma moulded shelf contemporary with porch. Rear
kitchen has wide Tudor arched fireplace with chamfered surround.
