Former mill, early to mid C19, now converted to form 7 flats. Hammer dressed
stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic. Broad gable fronts lane. All
windows have plain stone surrounds with projecting sills. 5 bays. Doorway with
tie stone jambs set in second bay. Central bay has shallower windows with
similar to attic over central 3 bays. 6 bay return of similar windows. Rear
has single bay extension which party obscures Venetian window (blocked) in gable
apex. Former cotton mill belonging to George Hinchliffe of Cragg in Erringden
at his death in 1854.
