NEEDHAM MARKET
CODDENHAM ROAD
No.11, (Uvedale Farmhouse)

II

House, formerly farmhouse. C16 in two stages, with late C19 alterations. 2
storeys. Timber-framed and roughcast; the earlier section to left has a
jettied upper floor on slender brackets along the street frontage. Plaintiled
roof with axial C19 chimney of patterned gault and red brick. C19 casements,
some with small panes. Boarded C19 entrance door at gable end, with
plaintiled canopy on carved and pierced cantilever brackets. Good plain arch-
braced studwork. The central chimney bay, although containing a large stack
of C18 or earlier, has some anomalous altered framing suggesting a possible
timber-framed chimney. A lower extension to right was added late C16 or early
C17, and a parallel range to rear in late c19.
