C16. Altered C18. 2-storeys; L-shaped. Timber framed, probably some
brickwork, rough cast. Flat eaves. Old tile roof. Main block has 2 sash
windows on 1st floor one sash window on ground floor to left hand, all C18,
all 4 panes wide. Door to right hand in early C19 elaborate painted rustic
log surround with pediment. The return face to Church Street has oversailing
upper part with one small casement on 1st floor and one C18 window (4-panes
wide) on ground floor. Projecting wing facing Horsefair has one large
central sash window (5-panes wide) on each floor and additional 2-light
casement to left hand on ground floor. Lean-to extension to west with
small 5 panes wide window. Picturesque on corne of Horsefair.

Nos 5 to 13 (odd) and Rydal House form a group with Nos 37 & 39 Church
Street.
